Tribute has been hand tooled from chlorite. The stone was gifted to me, about 3-4 years ago, by Karla Matzke, owner of Matzke Fine Art gallery on Camano Island, WA. The stone was on my desk for the longest amount of time. It was turned over in about every position possible. The stone and I just didn’t communicate. This year, I attended an art show in which there was a peace dove by Tracy Powell. His dove was beautiful! The first stone sculpting class I took was from Tracy Powell. Oh my, the gifted chlorite stone spoke to me and told me that there is a dove inside.
The wood was taken from a good sized piece of aged wood gifted to me by Erin Bradshaw, a talented glass artist. The wood has been sanded and given coats of paste wax.
Tribute is about 5 inches tall and 6 inches wide, pin and sleeve mounted on a wood base.
