This little sculpture is a piece of alabaster which is pin and sleeve mounted on a marble base.
There are multiple flaws in the stone. I recognize that I am a person with multiple flaws and want to help bring out the beauty of a stone which also has what some would call "flaws".
Including the base, it is about 3 3/8 inches tall and 4 1/8 inches in length. This is the first time I've ever used acrylic paint on a stone. The paint is a layer of Golden brand gesso and red paint on the crest. The remainder of the stone has a coat of wax. Please understand that no attempt has been made to ensure level accuracy for the background of the pictures. Lighting is minimal.
